How to choose a nail shape

Round, square, almond, coffin or stiletto: what suits short nails, long fingers and busy hands.

Five nail tips on a lilac tray, each filed into a different shape.

The shape changes a set more than the color does. A quick guide from the chair.

  • Round is the easiest to live with: no corners to catch, perfect for short nails.
  • Square looks crisp and modern, and suits wide nail beds.
  • Almond makes fingers look longer and is the most requested shape at the studio.
  • Coffin is a long, tapered square with a flat tip, made for art and ombre.
  • Stiletto is bold and pointed; we keep it short for everyday wear.

Try them on the home page in Design your set, then tell us your pick when you book.
